The stage musical adaptation of The Greatest Showman is bound for London’s West End, opening at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in spring 2027. The production, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, follows a sold-out world premiere run at The Bristol Hippodrome earlier in 2026.

Oliver Tompsett will play P.T. Barnum, with Samantha Barks as Charity Barnum. The cast also includes Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajén van den Bosch as Jenny Lind, and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz. Further casting is to be announced.

The musical adapts the 2017 film starring Hugh Jackman, centring on circus impresario P.T. Barnum and his creation of an iconic show with a group of unlikely performers. The stage adaptation features a book by Tim Federle, based on Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon’s screenplay. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who wrote the film’s songs including the Golden Globe-winning “This is Me,” have composed the stage musical’s score, which includes film songs alongside new material written for the stage.

The creative team includes scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and music supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Disney Theatrical Group is producing alongside The Seelig Group.
