Several celebrated Broadway productions are preparing final performances in August as limited engagements and extended runs conclude.
Cats: The Jellicle Ball closes August 8 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The revival, which won three Tony Awards including Best Direction and Best Choreography, reimagines Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic score within competitive New York City Ballroom culture.
Death of a Salesman ends its limited-engagement revival on August 9. Arthur Miller’s masterpiece features performances by Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, and Christopher Abbott.
Every Brilliant Thing concludes August 9 after a 40-performance run. The interactive solo play stars Tracee Ellis Ross in her Broadway debut, based on Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe’s work.
Ragtime closes August 16 at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. Lincoln Center Theater’s revival features a 28-piece orchestra, book by Terrence McNally, and score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, with performances by Joshua Henry and Caissie Levy.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical ends its run August 30 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre after seven years and 10 Tony Awards. Original cast member Aaron Tveit returns August 18–29.
