Editorial Standards & Corrections

These are the rules GetUrTix News works by. They are short on purpose — a policy nobody can check is worth nothing.

Sources

Every news story on this site is based on reporting by established industry publications or on official announcements from artists, venues and promoters. Each article names its source and links to it. If a story cannot be traced to a source you can open and read yourself, it does not get published.

Automation, stated plainly

Our news articles are drafted by an automated system and checked against their sources before publication. Two things follow from this, and we would rather say them than have readers discover them:

  • We do not do original reporting. We summarise and organise what others report, and we point you to them. Where the original matters — a full interview, a detailed review — read the source we link.
  • Automated checking is not infallible. The system drops claims it cannot verify against the source, which prevents most errors but not all of them.

Article illustrations are generated artwork in a consistent house style. They are never photographs of real people or events, and are not presented as documentary images.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Write to contact with the page address and what is inaccurate. Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed; a story that turns out to be wrong at its core is taken down rather than quietly edited.

Event listings

Dates, venues, times and prices on event pages come from the ticketing catalogue our operator works with and are refreshed daily. Schedules change constantly: shows are rescheduled, start times announced late, runs extended or cut. Before travelling, confirm details on the ticket page for that event. When a page shows a time as “TBA”, the catalogue has not published one yet — we do not invent it.

Once an event has taken place, its page stays online with a note and links to upcoming dates, so that links shared earlier keep working.

Commercial relationships

GetUrTix News is operated by GetUrTix, an online ticket marketplace. Ticket links on this site lead there, and the operator earns revenue from those sales. The site also carries third-party advertising.

What that money does not buy: coverage. No artist, promoter, venue or advertiser can pay to appear in our news, and none of them sees a story before it is published.
