American Idol moves production to Georgia for Season 25 Music News
After more than two decades in Hollywood, the long-running singing competition will produce its upcoming season in the Atlanta area, with production company Fremantle in final talks with a local studio.

American Idol is relocating production from Hollywood to Georgia, Fremantle confirmed. The company is in final talks with a studio in the Atlanta area for Season 25, according to reports.

Georgia offers a 20 percent transferable film tax credit, plus an additional 10 percent uplift for projects providing promotional value to the state and spending a minimum of $500,000. The state has become a major U.S. shooting location outside Los Angeles and New York, hosting productions including Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, and Superman.

American Idol wrapped Season 24 in May, which featured judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan. The season moved the traditional “Hollywood Week” from Los Angeles to Nashville and included a special round in Hawaii with 30 finalists. Hannah Harper from Missouri won the season.

Season 24 marked the first time the competition used social voting for viewer participation.
