Producer Pippa Harris Explains Release Plan for Four Beatles Films Music News
Producer Pippa Harris said the four Beatles films from Sam Mendes are planned for release in 2028, with the hope that audiences will see all four. She spoke at the BFI London Film Festival.

Producer Pippa Harris has explained the thinking behind the release strategy for Sam Mendes’ Beatles biopics, all four of which are set to hit cinemas simultaneously in April 2028 with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Harris is producing “The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event” for her and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions. She spoke at an industry talk at the BFI London Film Festival. She said the idea at the moment is that the films will come out in 2028 and that people will be able to experience them in cinemas during the same period. She did not expect audiences to see all four films on the same day. Within the same month, she said, viewers might see one a week, or one one weekend and two the next. Her hope is that people will see all four films.

Each film is told from the perspective of a different band member. Paul Mescal plays Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison, Barry Keoghan plays Ringo Starr and Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon.

Harris said the films stand alone as individual stories of each of the four men, but have “a cumulative power, which I think is greater than the sum of the parts.” She added: “The Beatles are simply, I think, the greatest band in history.”

Harris said she was speaking on “day 180” of the shoot.
