Barry Manilow has cut short his return to Las Vegas after coming down with bronchitis. The 83-year-old performed on Thursday, October 8, at the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, which his team called a “triumphant welcome-back concert” following a weeks-long break.
At Friday’s show, Manilow stopped after two songs and did not return, according to a report by Vital Vegas. The outlet said the band played instrumentals before a voice over the PA announced the show was over. Attendees said they later received refund emails from Ticketmaster. Saturday’s concert was canceled.
A representative for the musician and the venue told Variety: “After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows.” The team has not said whether upcoming dates, including the residency listing for October 15, will be affected.
Health background
Manilow disclosed in December 2025 that he had been diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer, found after doctors ordered scans while he was recovering from bronchitis. He subsequently underwent surgery. Health issues had repeatedly postponed his Westgate residency, originally set to begin in February. He returned to the stage in the U.K. and resumed Las Vegas dates in July. In late August, he announced another break after a demanding summer run, saying “we were pushing a little too hard.”
Manilow has sold more than 85 million records worldwide. His tally of shows at the Westgate has surpassed Elvis Presley’s record, according to Billboard.
