Gnarls Barkley’s upcoming North American tour will feature CeeLo Green performing the duo’s songs without producer Danger Mouse, the singer confirmed on Wednesday via Facebook. The “To Whom It Still Concerns” shows were initially announced in mid-September as the group’s first tour in 18 years, but Green clarified that Danger Mouse will not perform.
“Danger mouse will not be performing,” Green wrote. “We want no misunderstandings / disappointments etc. He is my Producer(a great one at that) ! not a performing artist by trade. we are business partners. Whatever he decides for himself is his right…and I support him (vice versa) this is a disclaimer.” Green added that Danger Mouse “will be there in spirit” and noted the tour “probably won’t happen again.”
Live Nation has updated promotional materials to bill the shows as “CeeLo Green performing Gnarls Barkley,” removing imagery of both performers from the original poster. The tour kicks off November 5 in San Francisco and concludes November 28 in Chicago, with Gallant and Duckwrth appearing as special guests on select dates.
