Nicko McBrain, the longtime drummer for heavy metal band Iron Maiden, said he declined an invitation to play golf with President Donald Trump, according to an interview with the Telegraph. McBrain, who lives in Florida, said a friend he described as “a massive Republican” asked him to join a round with the president. “And I said, ‘You fucking what?’… and I just said, ‘No.’ No mate.”
In the same interview, McBrain said he was “not amused by the narcissism” and referred to the controversy over the Epstein files and what he called the “debauched war” on Iran. He also said Pete Hegseth is “going to be put in prison” and concluded that Trump and his “bunch of cronies” “should be put in jail.” These are McBrain’s personal views and have not been verified.
Book and induction
McBrain’s autobiography, “Hello Boys and Girls!”, is published by HarperCollins, which describes it as a “thrilling, hilarious and deeply personal autobiography.”
Iron Maiden was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026. The official induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Tour
The band announced the third and final leg of its 50th-anniversary “Run for Your Lives” tour, which begins in April and concludes in May. The leg closes with two festival headlining performances at Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock.
