Céline Dion Opens 26-Night Paris Residency Music News
The Canadian icon returned to the stage on September 12 after six years away, performing a 29-song, two-and-a-half-hour show at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre to an audience of 30,000.

Céline Dion launched her 26-date Paris residency at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on September 12, marking her first headlined concert since publicly disclosing her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome. The opening night drew 30,000 attendees, with all tickets for the first 16 autumn dates selling out within hours of going on sale.

The 29-song setlist spanned two and a half hours, drawing heavily from Deux, the Jean-Jacques Goldman-written album that remains the best-selling French-language record ever made. Dion opened in tears on “On Ne Change Pas,” performed the opera aria “La Wally” under falling snow, and debuted “Dansons,” her 2026 Goldman-written comeback single. She delivered “All by Myself” a cappella and closed with the sing-along “Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore.”

The staging remained deliberately sparse, with no pyrotechnics, to keep focus on her voice. The show began 47 minutes late and concluded at 11:14 p.m. local time. A mid-show segment featured a mirror-ball disco stretch with reworked versions of “I Feel Love,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “I’m Alive,” showcasing a looser, more playful side of the artist.

Notable guests in attendance included Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Aya Nakamura, and Thomas Pesquet. The residency’s access lottery drew more than nine million applicants, with more than 480,000 tickets sold across the first 16 dates.
