Jane Remover issued an ultimatum to M3F Fest one month ago: remove Israeli alt-rock trio Temper City or she would not perform at the 2025 event. “yo get that idf band off the lineup or I’m not playing,” the experimental pop artist posted on Instagram Stories on August 5. The festival has now removed Jane Remover from its updated lineup, with Flying Lotus taking her place.
M3F did not publicly address the reason for the change. Temper City, fronted by US-born Eytan Peled, has not commented on the situation. Israeli army service is mandatory for most Israeli citizens around age 18; Peled has publicly acknowledged his Israel Defense Forces background, telling Israeli publication Frogi in 2022 that his military service “built me up and made me realize that I strongly believe in actively leaving my comfort zone.”
Temper City, completed by Chen Kordova and Aviv Barenholtz (production duo Sync), has released two songs. Their debut “Self Aware” became a TikTok hit and topped Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart in July. The band is readying a debut album and is scheduled to perform at Austin City Limits next month.
