Bad Bunny won his first Primetime Emmy on September 5 at the Creative Arts Emmys for outstanding variety special (live) for The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny (NBC), winning as both lead performer and producer.
The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show won seven Emmy awards total, making it the most-awarded Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history. It surpassed the 2022 Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent, which won three awards. The show was also the first Spanish-language program to win outstanding variety special (live).
Additional awards for the halftime show included outstanding music direction, outstanding directing for a variety special, outstanding sound mixing for a variety series or special, outstanding choreography for variety or reality programming, outstanding lighting design/lighting direction for a special, and outstanding technical direction and camerawork for a special.
Bad Bunny’s Saturday Night Live hosting episode won a separate Primetime Emmy for outstanding makeup for a variety, nonfiction or reality program. The awards come seven months after Bad Bunny became the first artist to win Grammy Award album of the year for a Spanish-language album, for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
