Liam and Noel Gallagher skipped the press conference for their upcoming Disney+ documentary “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger” at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The brothers arrived on the Lido, participated in the film’s photocall, then departed before the conference began.
Co-director Will Lovelace acknowledged their presence during the press event, stating: “They were here a second ago having their photograph taken, so they are here,” but did not explain their absence from the conference. Representatives for Oasis and Disney did not respond to requests for comment.
The documentary, which world premiered at Venice on Saturday night, releases in theaters September 11 before arriving on Disney+ later in 2026. It features backstage and onstage footage of the band and marks the brothers’ first joint interview in 20 years since their 15-year feud ended with their “Live ’25” reunion tour.
Co-directors Southern and Lovelace employed hidden cameras in the rehearsal space to capture the reunion authentically. “We didn’t want it to feel mediated,” Southern said. “We were aware of how sensitive it was, and that this was literally the first time they’d been in a room together for a prolonged period for 15 years.”
The brothers have remained press shy as a pair since reuniting. Noel Gallagher recently hinted at a potential 2027 tour in an interview with Talksport, saying: “Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?”
