Miley Cyrus released the single and accompanying music video for “Bass Persuades” on Thursday, September 3. The grungy visual features the Grammy-winning artist turning a bustling city into a dance floor with extended choreography.
On the track, Cyrus sings: “We can’t live like this forever / And surrender to the night when our bodies close together.”
Her 10th studio album, also titled Bass Persuades, is scheduled for release on September 18. Cyrus described the album’s meaning in a statement: “Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.”
Cyrus will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18 in celebration of the new project. General ticket sales begin September 10. “It’s been a while,” she wrote. “I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I’m bringing it home.”
Her previous album, Something Beautiful, arrived in May 2025 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
