Harry Styles quipped about ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s wedding during his third night performing at Madison Square Garden on August 29. “We’re at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks! And they also do weddings,” he told the crowd, referencing Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 ceremony at the arena.

Styles and Swift dated from November 2012 to January 2013. Swift’s 2014 hit “Style” is widely understood to have been inspired by their relationship. Styles reportedly received an invitation to the Swift-Kelce wedding but did not attend; he was performing the London leg of his Together, Together tour at Wembley that evening.

The joke landed during Styles’ 30-show MSG residency, which opened August 26 and continues through Halloween. The residency comprises his entire 2026 U.S. tour schedule. The opening night drew significant attention, with Styles overhauling his usual setlist and pausing to honour Dolly Parton, who died August 28. The residency opened to 11.5 million presale ticket registrations in January, which Ticketmaster called the highest volume ever recorded for an artist presale.

Styles is performing in support of his album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., released in March. It marks his first run of live shows since 2023.
