KATSEYE made a brief appearance at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival on Saturday, August 29, despite withdrawing from the official lineup due to injury.
Members Yoonchae, Lara and Megan took the stage just before Devon Again, the act booked to replace KATSEYE’s cancelled time slot. The trio introduced nonprofit Baby2Baby, which provides children in poverty with diapers, clothing and other necessities.
Megan, who sustained an ankle injury during rehearsal, addressed the cancellation: “We’re so disappointed that we can’t perform today on stage, but my ankle is on hiatus. But our hearts are definitely not.” She added that the group was sending love to Rodrigo and the community she built at the festival.
KATSEYE announced Thursday that Megan had sprained her ankle and would not perform at the festival. Megan said Friday that doctors advised her to rest the injury ahead of the group’s tour schedule.
The appearance came shortly after KATSEYE achieved their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their EP WILD. The group’s active lineup consists of Yoonchae, Lara, Megan and Daniela. Members Manon and Sophia are on hiatus for wellness and mental health reasons, respectively.
Rodrigo announced Friday that ticket sales for the festival raised $10 million for 10 nonprofits supporting women, including Planned Parenthood, Center for Reproductive Rights and Baby2Baby.
