Jay Wheeler’s “De Lejitos” jumped to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart (dated August 29), earning 6.7 million audience impressions in the United States during the August 14–20 tracking week, a 4% increase from the prior week.
“‘De Lejitos’ is a special song for me,” Wheeler told Billboard. “It went from being my daughter Aiunii’s favorite to becoming a favorite among all my fans.”
The song debuted in the top 20 of the Hot Latin Songs chart in April and spent three weeks in the top 20 of Latin Airplay before reaching No. 2 last week. This marks Wheeler’s fourth No. 1 on Latin Airplay, following “Viendo El Techo,” “Dos Tragos,” and “Si Te Vas” (with Jay Balvin), all chart-toppers between 2021 and 2026.
Elsewhere, Banda El Recodo de Cruz de Lizárraga claimed its 21st No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay with “La Cama de Piedra,” a reworked version of Antonio Aguilar’s 1958 hit produced by Pepe Aguilar and band leader Alfonso ‘Poncho’ Lizárraga. The song earned 5.9 million impressions, a 10% gain from the prior week, displacing Xavi’s “Dosis.”
With 21 Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1s, Banda El Recodo ties Intocable for the fourth-most chart-toppers since the chart began in 1994.
