Sheryl Crow made a surprise appearance at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, where she debuted “Built to Last,” the theme song for the upcoming Disney Jr. series Cars: Lightning Racers. She followed the premiere with a performance of “Real Gone,” her original track from the 2006 Pixar film Cars.
Crow has written “Built to Last” as the series theme and contributed to 10 additional original songs for Cars: Lightning Racers. The series will introduce a new generation of viewers to Lightning McQueen, Mater and their friends as they embark on adventures around Radiator Springs.
Cars: Lightning Racers is scheduled to arrive on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027. Several original voice actors are returning for the series, including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater and Bonnie Hunt as Sally.
