Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee discussed the band’s latest album cycle and touring plans in an interview with Billboard. Sanctuary, the band’s sixth studio effort, debuted in the top 10 of Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Independent Albums charts following its June 5 release.
The album features two No. 1 Mainstream Rock Airplay hits: “Who Will You Follow” and “Afterlife,” the latter from the Netflix animated series Devil May Cry. Lee also collaborated with Poppy and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox on the track “End of You.”
“This album and this moment, and all of the support that has come together at the same time just feels like something bigger than myself,” Lee told Billboard. “Life is full of so many ups and downs and mediums, and this is definitely an up.”
Evanescence begins its first-ever arena tour in the U.K. and Europe on September 8, with additional U.S. dates in October including the Sick New World Texas 2026 festival in Fort Worth and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The band will perform stadium dates in Malaysia in November and Japan in December, followed by Australia and New Zealand in March 2027.
The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who helmed five of the 12 tracks, with Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini producing the remainder. Lee noted that the album represents a collaborative effort, with the band working with producers and co-writers who understood Evanescence’s musical foundation.
