Muna Tour Bus Catches Fire on Burbank Freeway; Band Safe Music News
A tour bus carrying the band Muna caught fire on a freeway in Burbank, California, on October 19, 2026. The band said all members are safe, though personal items were lost.

A tour bus carrying the members of Muna caught fire on the freeway in Burbank, California, on Monday, October 19, 2026. Local station KTLA captured the scene on camera and reported that the incident shut down several lanes on the busy roadway.

The California Highway Patrol received a call at 8:00 a.m. about a flaming bus on the southbound 5 freeway. KTLA reported that the driver reportedly did not realize the bus was on fire. After the bus pulled over on an offramp, the Burbank Fire Department put out the fire.

Muna shared a photo from KTLA’s coverage on social media. The band said that “many personal items were lost but we’re all safe, thank goodness.”

Tour context

In September, Muna announced that Naomi McPherson, who plays guitar and synths and sings in the band, would miss several tour dates to look after their mother, Harriet, who was in the terminal stages of a cancer battle. McPherson is back on the road with the band for the Gets So Hot Tour, which began September 25 in Philadelphia.

The band has one more show, at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre outside Denver on October 21, before heading to Europe for another month of concerts.
