Miley Cyrus responded to criticism of her comeback show at the Hollywood Bowl. She called out videos that accused her of not fully investing herself in the performance because she did not sing every word of the songs.
Speaking at her second Hollywood Bowl concert on Sunday night, Cyrus said she had never heard that she does not put her heart into something. “I can take a lot, but one thing I will not stand is any question about where my heart is when I’m on the stage,” she said. She added: “I am fully present.”
Cyrus, who had not performed live in four years before Friday’s show, said standing on stage is not easy for her now. “It is hard for me to stand up here and do this show,” she said, adding that it “does not come as natural as it once did.”
She also referenced the criticism while performing her recent single “Bass Persuades,” according to videos shared on social media. Her latest album, Bass Persuades, came out in September.
Cyrus does not currently have any further tour dates scheduled, according to Rolling Stone.
