Darren Criss performed two back-to-back shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, October 18, where he was joined by a series of surprise guests, including his former Glee co-star Chris Colfer. The pair had not performed together in more than a decade. Glee ended its seven-season run in 2015.
Before Colfer arrived, Criss attempted to sing both parts of ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside,’ the Kurt and Blaine duet from the season 2 episode ‘A Very Glee Christmas.’ The song peaked at No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2010. Colfer joined him partway through the number. Criss said, ‘It’s been awhile!’ according to Billboard.
Other guests included:
- Alan Cumming, performing ABBA’s ‘Does Your Mother Know’
- Gaten Matarazzo, performing ‘Lost Boys Life,’ an original song Criss wrote and recorded with his late brother, Chuck Criss, for their band Computer Games
- Sarah Hyland, performing ‘Suddenly Seymour’ from Little Shop of Horrors
- Jesse Tyler Ferguson, performing Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’
Criss also performed ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’ from A Very Potter Musical, which he co-created as a University of Michigan student. He was joined by an ensemble that included Alex Newell, Jak Malone, Natasha Hodgson and Andrew Barth Feldman.
For the finale, Criss performed Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ with a local youth choir. He had covered both songs on Glee.
