Christopher Jackson Returns to Hamilton on Broadway

Christopher Jackson Returns to Hamilton on Broadway Musicals & Broadway
Tony-nominated actor Christopher Jackson returns to the role of George Washington in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre starting September 8, 2026, through January 3, 2027.

Christopher Jackson, who originated the role of George Washington in the Tony-winning musical Hamilton, returns to Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre in that role beginning September 8, 2026. Jackson is scheduled to perform through January 3, 2027.

Jackson earned a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for creating the role in Hamilton‘s Off-Broadway and Broadway productions. He also received a Grammy as a principal soloist on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. His return follows the ten-year anniversary celebration of Hamilton on Broadway and the earlier return of fellow original cast member Leslie Odom, Jr., last fall.

“Returning to Hamilton as George Washington is a deeply meaningful homecoming,” Jackson said in a statement. “This show changed my life, and it remains one of the great honors of my career to be part of telling this story.”

Jackson joins a current Broadway company led by Marcus John in the title role, with Lauren Mariasoosay as Eliza Hamilton, Donald Webber, Jr. as Aaron Burr, Lencia Kebede as Angelica Schuyler, and Jarrod Spector as King George III.

Hamilton, with book and score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, opened on Broadway August 6, 2015. The musical won 11 Tony Awards at the 70th Annual Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and has also received the Grammy Award, Olivier Award, Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
