Jordan Donica, a Tony nominee for Camelot, joins the West End company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera beginning September 8 at His Majesty’s Theatre in London. Donica, who previously played Raoul in the Broadway production, steps into the title role through spring 2027.
Fellow Broadway actor Sierra Boggess, a former Christine, plays opera diva Carlotta and is scheduled to continue through November 21. The 40th anniversary cast also includes Beatrice Penny-Touré as Christine Daaé, Rhys Whitfield as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, and Joanna Riding as Madam Giry, with Colleen Rose Curran alternating as Christine at certain performances.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh said: “This special birthday season of Phantom at His Majesty’s Theatre will be led by such a sensational cast alongside a brilliant ensemble.” He noted that only two musicals in history have run continuously to packed houses for over 40 years—Phantom and Les Misérables, both produced by Mackintosh.
The musical features music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, and a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber based on Gaston Leroux’s novel. The production is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, recreated and adapted by Chrissie Cartwright.
