Courtney Love revealed in an Instagram video that her upcoming album—her first since 2010’s Nobody’s Daughter—is finished. “It’s done. It’s kind of been done. It’s a really good record. I put a lot into it,” she said.
Love also disclosed a significant health crisis in 2019 following her move from Los Angeles to London. She described her body “exploding” and spending time frequently in hospitals, though she did not specify the illness. “I almost died,” she said. “I lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was going to die. I didn’t believe them.” Love credited her resilience to childhood experiences, saying she maintained her ability to trust her own perception despite external pressure to doubt it. “Somehow I got better. I’m healthy, which is amazing,” she added.
The album features collaborations with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, according to Love’s Instagram caption. In that caption, she wrote about returning to touring: “I want to tour more than anything, and I want to sing. That’s what keeps my soul and body happy.”
Love was the subject of the documentary Antiheroine, directed by Edward Lovelace and James Hall, which premiered at Sundance in January 2026.
