Liu Yuning released the single “JUMP” in collaboration with J Balvin, a cross-cultural track that blends rock with traditional Chinese instruments including the pipa, guzheng, erhu and Tang-style drums. The song interpolates Van Halen’s 1983 Billboard Hot 100-topping hit and combines Ning’s energetic rap delivery with Western and Eastern musical influences.
The track was part of a global campaign by Billboard China and QQ Music that provided Liu Yuning with featured promotional opportunities.
Liu Yuning is unveiling his second solo album, “Liu Yuning’s”, his first full-length project in five years. Rather than a simultaneous release, he has chosen a track-by-track rollout, with nine songs available so far. Earlier releases include “Not Too Late”, a warm rock ballad written and produced by singer/songwriter Penny Tai that reflects on exhaustion and self-doubt in the spotlight, as well as “Door” and “I Want”, which showcase contrasting emotional landscapes of isolation and liberation.
Beyond his solo work, Liu Yuning has established himself as one of China’s most in-demand OST vocalists. He recently contributed songs to several popular television dramas, including “For Yu Ting Yao” (“Seeing Mountains and Rivers”), “The Road to Splendor” (“A Promise”) and “Borrow a Little Light From Ordinary Days”, demonstrating versatility across genres and storytelling.
