Dave Grohl performed with AC/DC at MetLife Stadium on Friday night, fulfilling a decades-long dream inspired by the band's Let There Be Rock concert film.

Dave Grohl joined AC/DC on stage at MetLife Stadium on Friday night for a performance of “Highway to Hell.” Grohl’s Foo Fighters served as surprise openers for the evening, marking the second time they have filled that role during AC/DC’s “PWR UP” tour.

During Foo Fighters’ set, Grohl reflected on watching AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock concert film at age 11. “At 11 years old, I didn’t know that rock and roll could be like that. I didn’t know that rock and roll was sweat, and blood, and fucking tears, and every ounce of energy you have — Phil Rudd breaking snare drums and Angus sucking oxygen on the side of the stage,” Grohl said. “I saw that movie when I was 11 years old, and I was like, ‘I wanna do that for the rest of my fucking life.'”

The performance marked the realisation of a dream Grohl has held for more than four decades.
