Sienna Spiro performed “Great Expectation” on The Tonight Show, backed by a live band and two backup singers. The British singer delivered a sultry, impassioned rendition of the track, which features a red and white backdrop matching the song’s official music video.
“Great Expectation” appears on Spiro’s debut album Visitor, released in July 2026. Rolling Stone noted in its review that Spiro “sings with an intensity that shows how emotionally invested she is in the stories she’s sharing,” calling the track a standout.
Spiro explained that the song was inspired by a period living in New York, when she hoped someone would visit her and would imagine, each morning, that he might be waiting outside her apartment. She said the song grew beyond that personal experience to explore expectation itself: “Whether it’s beautiful or just a way of setting yourself up to be disappointed.”
This marked Spiro’s second appearance on The Tonight Show. She previously performed “Die on This Hill” in January 2026, earning praise from host Jimmy Fallon.
