Around a dozen publicly traded music companies reported earnings for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, showing continued consumer spending across labels, streaming, satellite radio and live events.
On the label front, Universal Music Group (UMG) and Sony Music both posted solid results as of July 31, with Sony’s overall revenue surging 20% year-over-year. In Korea, HYBE reported strong second-quarter performance driven by BTS world tour revenue and sales of its fifth studio album, ARIRANG.
Live Nation increased total quarterly revenue by a significant margin despite competition from FIFA World Cup games at stadiums. Sphere Entertainment reported a revenue increase from showings of The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, though the company posted an overall operating loss.
SiriusXM Holdings, the satellite radio and podcasting company, attributed growth to low-cost companion plans and premium channels run by Morgan Wallen and Green Day, according to CEO Jennifer Witz.
On the streaming front, Deezer reported that revenue and adjusted gross profit edged slightly higher in the first half of 2026. Spotify was scheduled to report on August 4 before market open, while Warner Music Group (WMG) was set to report on August 6 after market close.
