Suki Waterhouse released her third album Loveland, her major-label debut with Island Records, less than two years after September 2024’s Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. She co-wrote every track and worked with producers including Amy Allen, Aaron Dessner, Joel Little, Dan Wilson and Emily Warren.
Waterhouse began writing Loveland weeks after giving birth to her daughter with partner Robert Pattinson in March 2024. “I feel wiser than ever and also sillier than ever,” she told the Billboard Pop Shop Podcast. “I’ve kind of found my new self in this very joyful, delicate, interesting time in my life.”
The album’s lead single, “Back in Love,” was the final song written for the project. “It felt like healing,” Waterhouse said, adding the track inspired her to approach touring with renewed excitement. The second single, “Tiny Raisin,” drew influence from Britpop and artists including David Bowie, with Waterhouse citing her experience opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley and subsequently attending an Oasis concert.
Waterhouse’s Loveland Tour begins July 22, featuring venues including Radio City, which she called a “bucket-list moment.” She emphasized balancing new material with fan favorites. Drawing from her Eras Tour experience, Waterhouse said she learned from Swift the importance of making people feel special and maintaining positive backstage energy. “Really making sure that everyone’s taken care of and making sure that people know how appreciated they are,” she noted.
