Karol G pranked her best friend Daiky Gamboa by claiming she was postponing her world tour to join the cast of Love Island, according to a prank-call segment for Elle’s “Phoning It In” series.
During the call, the Colombian artist told Gamboa that her team was “moving the whole tour around” because she had been offered a spot on the reality dating show. “It would take my career to the next level,” she said, attributing the suggestion to someone named Noah.
Gamboa expressed skepticism, noting that no celebrity at Karol G’s level had ever appeared on such a show. When pressed, Karol G insisted she had said yes to the offer. Gamboa then asked directly, “Are you kidding me or what?” — prompting Karol G to break character and laugh, admitting the prank.
The Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour is scheduled to begin July 24 in Chicago across 63 stadiums. Elena Rose, Greeicy and Becky G will serve as opening acts on select dates of the U.S. leg.
