Long Beach hosts a wide slice of the LA28 programme, with 66 sessions running from Wednesday, July 12 through Saturday, July 29. The city’s venues divide cleanly by sport: Long Beach Arena at the Convention Center holds handball, while the Long Beach Aquatics Center is set for water polo. Open water swimming and canoe sprint make use of the coastal and marine settings, with Marine Stadium serving as a venue in its own right alongside these disciplines.

Beach volleyball takes place at Alamitos Beach Stadium, and Belmont Shore appears on the schedule as its own listed venue. Shooting events in rifle and pistol are held at the Long Beach Target Shooting Hall, a dedicated venue separate from the water- and sand-based competitions elsewhere in the city. Climbing rounds out the program at the Long Beach Climbing Theater, and rowing is also part of the city’s slate of disciplines.
