Address: 777 Chick Hearn Court, Los Angeles, California, 90015
Peacock Theater, located at 777 Chick Hearn Court in downtown Los Angeles, takes on weightlifting duty during the LA28 Games. The venue is normally known as a concert and entertainment theater in the L.A. Live complex, adjacent to Crypto.com Arena, and its indoor stage setting lends itself well to the tight focus required for weightlifting competition, where the lifting platform becomes the visual and dramatic centerpiece for spectators seated close to the action.
Two sessions are scheduled here, both in the evening, on Thursday, July 27 and Saturday, July 29, 2028, each starting at 8:50 PM. Weightlifting sessions typically move through weight classes with athletes taking attempts at the snatch and clean and jerk, building toward the heaviest lifts later in the session. Expect a compact, high-tension atmosphere suited to a theater-style venue rather than a large arena.
Spectators choosing between the two dates should note both are late sessions with the same discipline and format, so the decision may come down to which weight classes are contested on a given night, details for which are listed below in the schedule table.
