Smashing Pumpkins delivered a nostalgia-fueled set at Lollapalooza 2026 in Chicago on July 31, featuring surprise guest appearances from Olivia Rodrigo and Yungblud.
Yungblud performed “Luna,” the closing track from Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 album Siamese Dream, alongside Billy Corgan on guitar. Both performers wore all-black during the rendition. “This is a fucking dream come true!” Yungblud declared onstage.
Shortly after, Corgan introduced Rodrigo, who appeared in a sheer baby doll dress and knee-high stockings to perform “Thirty-Three” from the band’s 1995 chart-topping album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, with Corgan on acoustic guitar. The performance, bathed in red light as rain fell, was described as one of the festival’s most memorable moments.
Earlier in the week, Smashing Pumpkins performed at a Lollapalooza aftershow where they brought out actor Barry Williams to perform “It’s a Sunshine Day” from The Brady Bunch. Former Hole bassist and short-lived Smashing Pumpkins member Melissa Auf der Maur also performed “The Everlasting Gaze” from Machina/The Machines of God, reprising her role as a touring member in 2000.
