Phil Collins, Paul McCartney End 20-Year Feud

Phil Collins, Paul McCartney End 20-Year Feud Music News
The Genesis drummer said he and the former Beatle resolved a long-standing dispute after McCartney called him earlier this year regarding a charity auction.

Phil Collins has resolved a decades-old grudge against Paul McCartney, the musician said during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Friday.

Collins recalled an encounter at the Queen’s Jubilee Concert rehearsals at Buckingham Palace in 2002. He brought a rare first-edition Hunter Davis book on The Beatles for McCartney to sign. After McCartney obliged, Collins said the former Beatle remarked to his then-wife Heather Mills, “He’s a big Beatles fan, is our little Phil?” Collins said the comment stung at the time.

Earlier this year, McCartney called Collins after learning the Genesis drummer was organizing a Kings Trust charity auction and seeking memorabilia donations from fellow musicians. During the call, McCartney raised the old disagreement. “He said, ‘What is all this about?'” Collins recounted. “I said, ‘I wish I’d never said it, Paul, I wish I’d never said it’. He said, ‘I thought we were good, you know.'”

Collins concluded: “So we kissed and made up. I said I was sorry.”
