Apple is opening Apple Music Hall, a new live music venue located at Battersea Power Station in London, on September 28. The 600-capacity venue is designed to host intimate artist performances while offering professional-grade recording and broadcast infrastructure.
The venue features a 38-foot-wide stage reconfigurable for in-the-round performances, a 48-speaker spatial sound system, and two professional recording and mixing studios. The facility is hardwired for 16+ cameras and includes a broadcast control room that supports both traditional broadcast and iPhone video capture.
According to Apple’s press release, an artist performing at the venue can leave with a finished Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready mix, and multicamera video from a single show. Performances will be livestreamed globally, allowing fans outside London to access the one-time-only shows.
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and international content, said the venue represents “an unprecedented step further in our commitment to artists and fans by supporting live music in ways only Apple can do.” Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, added that the space aims to “connect the artists and the fans” while creating “great music and memories.”
