King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have announced a 2026 Australian tour opening October 13 at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul, with support from Xiao Xiao. The band will perform a headline show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on October 14 (also with Xiao Xiao support) and a separate late-night rave set at Sydney’s Liberty Hall the same evening.
The tour moves to Melbourne for the second edition of The Croxton Block Party on October 17–18, a two-day event curated and headlined by King Gizzard with three-hour sets each night. The October 17 lineup includes Shonen Knife, Babe Rainbow, Heavy Moss (fronted by King Gizzard bassist Lucas Harwood), B3LLY, Moktar, Techno666, and a solo modular-synth set from frontman Stu Mackenzie. October 18 features C.O.F.F.I.N, Glyconic, Gut Health, ORB, Public Figures, and Moktar.
The Block Party, which debuted in 2025, converts the Croxton’s carpark into a festival site. King Gizzard have performed at the venue since December 2015, including a 2016 residency and a 2020 bushfire benefit show.
Ticket sales will support conservation: through a partnership with climate agency FEAT, $1 from every Block Party ticket will fund habitat restoration on Lungtalanana Island in Tasmania, a Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre-led project aimed at reintroducing the Bass Strait wombat and long-nosed potoroo.
The tour coincides with the band’s recent announcement of its 28th studio album, Alien Metal, due later in 2026 on its own p(doom) Records label, trailed by lead single “Level 5.”
