JENNIE’s “Less Than a Lover,” a summer solo single, topped Billboard’s weekly new music poll. The BLACKPINK singer’s track received over 62% of the vote, surpassing new releases from KATSEYE, Macario Martinez, Tyla, Charli xcx, Fridayy and Morgan Wallen.
The song launched alongside a music video co-written and styled by JENNIE and directed by Chooey. Filmed on the coast of Spain, the visual depicts a girl navigating summer romance and personal confusion. JENNIE previewed the track live at Governors Ball in New York City in June and has included it in her summer festival setlist.
KATSEYE’s “Animal” placed second with 24% of the vote, followed by Macario Martinez’s “Estar Sin Ti” and Tyla’s A*Pop album. “Less Than a Lover” marks JENNIE’s latest solo release since “Dracula,” her collaboration with Tame Impala that peaked at No. 5 on the Hot 100.
