Ariana Grande Opens London Residency After 7-Year Absence Music News
The pop star performed the first of 10 sold-out shows at The O2 on August 15, 2026, supporting her latest album Petal and marking the final leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour before a planned hiatus.

Ariana Grande returned to London’s O2 Arena on August 15, 2026, for the opening night of a 10-show sold-out residency, her first performances in the capital in seven years. The 20,000-capacity venue will host shows through September 1.

The residency marks the final leg of Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour and comes after her representatives confirmed on August 2 that she plans to take a hiatus once the shows conclude. She has also withdrawn from a planned revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George, which was set to open in London next summer.

Grande is touring in support of her latest album, Petal, released July 29, 2026. The project topped both the Official U.K. Albums Chart and the Billboard 200, with all 12 tracks entering the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40. The album features guitar-driven, lightly abrasive production alongside themes of femininity, freedom and life in the public eye.

The opening night performance featured elaborate video imagery, live sample looping, and intricate vocal arrangements. The O2 was previously the venue for Grande’s 2020 Netflix special, Excuse Me, I Love You.
