A TikTok video posted to the @TeamTrump account featuring Taylor Swift’s song “August” from her 2020 album Folklore has had the audio removed. The video, posted four days prior, showed Donald and Melania Trump on a balcony watching fireworks with text reading “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.”
The caption accompanying the video read: “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.” Fans noticed the song’s removal on Friday evening. In the U.S. version of TikTok, a message now appears stating: “The copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country.”
The @TeamTrump TikTok account, which has 14 million followers, was established ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election and has continued posting regularly since Trump’s election to a second term. A separate Team Trump video featuring a Swift song titled “Father Figure,” posted November 6, 2025, has also had the song removed. However, a video posted one day prior featuring a version of Swift’s “Red” retained its audio track as of the report’s publication.
