Barbra Streisand is expanding her creative career into children’s literature with her debut picture book, And By the Way…, set for release on March 30, 2027, published by Flamingo Books (an imprint of Penguin Young Readers).
The picture book tells the story of a loving grandparent and grandchild spending a day together through fun activities and adventures that explore life’s core truths, including discovery, self-expression, self-reliance and love.
Streisand said the project stems from her personal life. “I love being ‘Gamma Barbra’ to my three wonderful young grandchildren,” she stated. “One of our favorite activities is reading picture books together — sometimes the same ones over and over again! So, I thought it would be fun to write my own book… for them… and hopefully, for other parents and grandparents to read to their little ones!”
The book’s title reflects one of Streisand’s signature phrases. “It’s an expression I use quite often,” she explained. “It seems like there’s always one more thing to say!”
