Delta Goodrem and Simple Minds headlined the closing ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on August 2, performing hits including "Born To Try" and "Don't You (Forget About Me)."

Delta Goodrem and Simple Minds performed at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday, August 2. The Australian artist performed her 2003 hit “Born To Try” from her debut album Innocent Eyes, a medley of her hits, and the ballad “Eclipse,” which she performed at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest where she finished fourth.

Goodrem also performed her recent single “Warrior” and closed her set with a duet with Scottish pop artist Cammy Barnes on John Farnham’s “You’re The Voice.” This marked Goodrem’s third Commonwealth Games performance, following appearances at Melbourne 2006 and Gold Coast 2018.

Simple Minds concluded the ceremony with two songs from their 1980s catalogue: “Alive and Kicking” and “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” The Scottish band will begin their V Tour in February 2027 with arena shows across Australia and New Zealand to mark their fifth decade in music.

Goodrem is preparing to release her sixth studio album, Pure, on November 6 through Universal Music via Better Now Records/Electrola, marking her first release under a new deal. The album follows her 2021 collection Bridge Over Troubled Dreams.

Australia topped the Commonwealth Games medals table with 70 gold medals, ahead of England (29 gold) and Canada (19 gold). The closing ceremony also featured performances by Sandi Thom, Shereen Cutkelvin, Elephan Sessions and Bemz, marking the official end of the 11-day multi-sport event.
