Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys visited Michael Jackson’s home shortly before the singer’s death in 2009, according to Swizz Beatz, who recently discussed the visit on The Real Report With Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda.
The Bronx record producer said Jackson had a crush on Keys. Swizz Beatz said he did not feel offended and thought the idea was cool, so he arranged for the two singers to meet.
“I found out that Michael had a crush on my wife,” he said. He said he thinks Janet Jackson was the one who told Keys about her brother’s interest, and that he set up the meeting so the two could share a moment as fans of each other.
Swizz Beatz described the meeting at Jackson’s home, saying Jackson was in his element, his children were there, and the couple brought gifts for them. He said Jackson was excited about going on tour and showed Keys some of his dance moves.
Swizz Beatz also praised a jerk lobster dish made by Jackson’s Jamaican personal chef. He said Jackson offered him framed Thriller plaques that were propped against a wall, but he declined because he did not want to seem too eager.
