Stevie Nicks Inspires Mckenna Grace's Style in Hunger Games Prequel Music News
Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks served as a key fashion reference for costume designers on The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, influencing actress Mckenna Grace's 1960s and 1970s-inspired wardrobe for her character Maysilee Donner.

Stevie Nicks did not appear in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, but her distinctive style shaped the film’s costume design. Actress Mckenna Grace revealed that Nicks was featured prominently on the costume team’s mood boards for the prequel, which draws heavily from 1960s and 1970s fashion.

“Sunrise on the Reaping, at least [on] all the mood boards, there was Stevie Nicks,” Grace told E! News during the Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style, Power of Panem event in Paris on Tuesday. “It was very 60s, 70s-inspired.”

Nicks’ flowing silhouettes, layered looks and bohemian-rock aesthetic have established her as one of music’s most enduring style icons. Her influence extends into Panem’s fashion landscape, helping distinguish the prequel from other franchise entries. Grace noted that The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) drew from 1950s inspiration, while the original films starring Jennifer Lawrence featured more contemporary styles.

“It’s cool because you’re not only seeing younger versions of these characters, but what Panem and the Districts would have looked like at that time period,” Grace said.
