Rosalía Says She Already Made Kenan Thompson’s Pop-Classical Album Idea in ‘SNL’ Promo Music News
Rosalía will be musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s Oct. 10 episode hosted by Shane Gillis. In a new promo, Kenan Thompson pitches ideas that Gillis and Rosalía have already done, including her album LUX.

Rosalía will appear as musical guest on the October 10 episode of Saturday Night Live, with comedian Shane Gillis as host. In a new promo for the episode, Kenan Thompson pitches a series of ideas to Gillis, only to learn that the comedian and Rosalía have already done them.

The promo begins with Gillis introducing himself as the host alongside Rosalía. Thompson then suggests a character he wants to play on Gillis’s Netflix comedy Tires. Gillis replies that they have already filmed it. Thompson insists Gillis must not have seen what he filmed, and Gillis eventually gives in, saying he did not see it.

The running joke continues when Thompson asks whether Rosalía could make an album that blends pop and classical music in 14 languages. Rosalía responds that she has already made it: her fourth studio album, LUX.

LUX chart performance

LUX debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. According to Billboard, it also debuted at No. 1 on several Billboard charts, including Top Latin Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover Albums and World Albums. Rosalía recorded the album in 13 languages, and its orchestral production helped it cross over into Billboard’s classical and classical crossover charts.

Rosalía is returning to SNL as musical guest for the second time. She previously appeared in March 2022 while promoting Motomami, performing “Chicken Teriyaki” and “La Fama,” and she made a cameo during Bad Bunny’s 2021 SNL performance of “La Noche de Anoche.”
