Miley Cyrus' Bass Persuades Drops 156 Spots After No. 1 Debut Music News
Miley Cyrus' 10th studio album Bass Persuades debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but plummeted to No. 157 in its second week, marking the biggest chart drop for an album that opened at the summit.

Miley Cyrus’ Bass Persuades made history with its No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart, but the album tumbled to No. 157 in its second week. According to Variety, this marks the biggest second-week drop for a full-length release that debuted at No. 1.

Bass Persuades earned Cyrus her first No. 1 album in nearly 13 years. The album opened with 61,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending September 24, becoming her sixth project to lead the chart and first since 2013’s Bangerz. Of those 61,000 units, 47,000 came from album sales while 14,000 were streaming-equivalent units representing 14.22 million on-demand official streams.

The album arrived September 18 as Cyrus’ first release for Atlantic Records and her first under the Miley mononym. Its title track debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her 24th Top 40 entry.

Despite the album’s dramatic second-week descent, concert demand appears strong. Cyrus is scheduled to play two sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18, marking her first public concerts in four years. More than 1.5 million people registered for the presale, according to Hollywood Bowl organizers.
