Charli XCX will reportedly appear in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming horror film What Happens at Night, according to Variety, which cited sources. The outlet reported that the singer will cameo alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.
The film is based on the gothic novel by Peter Cameron. It places a married American couple, who are hoping to adopt a baby, in a remote European town, where they are confronted by a group of peculiar hotel guests as they struggle with the adoption and their own unease. According to Variety, the cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson, and Jared Harris. Beyond the cast, not much else is known about the film.
Representatives for Charli XCX, Scorsese, Apple, and StudioCanal did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s requests for comment.
Charli XCX previously worked with Scorsese on the cover of her Music, Fashion, Film album, released in July. The black-and-white image shows three figures from each category seated together in a kitchen: John Cale for music, Marc Jacobs for fashion, and Scorsese for film. “She said she had an idea to run by me,” Cale told Rolling Stone, adding that he was soon on a flight and “ended up in a random kitchen.”
Charli XCX is nearing the end of her U.S. tour in support of the album. The North American leg is scheduled to conclude on Friday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
