Country music artists Charley Crockett and Gavin Adcock have ended their public dispute over Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album, with the pair photographed together at a honky tonk this week.
Adcock, named Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month in July 2025, had criticized Beyoncé’s country-influenced album shortly after its release. “I really don’t believe her album should be labeled as country music,” Adcock said. “It doesn’t sound country, it doesn’t feel country.”
Crockett responded in August 2025 with a lengthy Instagram post defending Beyoncé and criticizing the broader country music industry. “I don’t need to put down a black woman to advance my music,” Crockett wrote. “That’s just embarrassing to the idea of America and I got no respect for it.”
Adcock this week shared a photo of the two relaxing together, captioning it: “We might not always see eye to eye but that don’t mean we can’t drop our pride and b—shit and be friends.” The reconciliation follows an August 2025 Instagram video in which Adcock acknowledged receiving 60 roses and a vinyl copy of Crockett’s album Dollar a Day from the artist.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making her the first Black woman to top the country chart. At the 67th Grammy Awards, the album won album of the year, extending Beyoncé’s record as the most-awarded artist in Grammy history with 35 wins.
