Ziaire Williams, Los Angeles Lakers forward, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Paris Timan during Bruno Mars’ October 2 concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Williams presented Timan with a ring as Mars performed “Marry You,” his 2010 wedding staple from his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans.
As Mars sang, confetti fell around the couple. Timan accepted the proposal, and the newly engaged pair embraced as the crowd erupted. The couple appeared on the stadium’s massive video screens during the celebration. SoFi Stadium shared footage on Instagram, writing, “It really was a beautiful night.”
The proposal occurred during the second of Mars’ five shows at SoFi Stadium as part of The Romantic Tour, which supports his fourth solo album, The Romantic. Released in 2010, “Marry You” peaked at No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011 and has become a fixture of wedding playlists and proposal videos.
