Azealia Banks has relocated to Tel Aviv, announcing the move on social media on October 6th with a photo of her new home. “Moving in,” she wrote on X. “If you would have told me years ago id end up moving to Tel Aviv and liking it, I would have said youre crazy.”
Banks praised Israel’s arts circuit and said she is working on a new album. “Its ironically just been easier to create here because Israel’s arts scene is really mature,” she wrote. “People arent witholding stems and holding grudges about social issues and its freeing.”
The rapper’s relationship with Israel has been volatile. In 2018, after performing at Barby in Tel Aviv, she reported experiencing racist treatment and vowed never to return. By 2025, her position had shifted; she posted statements supporting Israel amid the Gaza conflict. In March 2026, she reversed course again, criticizing Israel during the conflict with Iran. By September, she was once more questioning Black solidarity with Palestinians.
Banks is scheduled to perform at the Tel Aviv Amphitheater on October 8th, 2026.
