Yeat’s verse on YSL’s compilation album Slime Language 3 was removed earlier this week, prompting speculation among fans about the reason for the deletion. Reports suggested another artist had issued an ultimatum to Young Thug to either remove Yeat’s contribution or exclude theirs.
On the new track “ON NOTHING,” Yeat appears to address the situation by repeatedly referencing Travis Scott using his alias La Flame. In the opening, Yeat raps: “I’ma put out that flame, it’s fuckin’ lame, uh, you goin’ out sad.” Later in the track, he continues: “I don’t fuck with Flame, not a lot to say, if I saw a candle, I’d shush it / What more could I say? You do what they tell you to say, you a motherfuckin’ puppet.”
The release of “ON NOTHING” appears to confirm fan theories that Travis Scott was behind the request to remove Yeat from the Slime Language 3 project.
